Donald Swann's "The Road Goes Ever On and On - A Song Cycle" was graciously provided here in digital format by Gert Nieveld who has spent an incredible amount of time and effort remastering these files.  Gert contacted me back in late January and informed me of his recent discovery of an old vinyl containing the delightful piano music of Donald Swann, accompanied by William Elvin singing.  Though the original copy taken from that record was in pretty bad shape, Gert has painstakingly gone through every file and cleaned up, remastered, and generally outdone himself in restoring these wonderful old songs.  Over 80 hours worth of work went into the restoration process, so this was not an easy, fly-by-night task.

I'm including a link to the Forward by Donald Swann, which introduces the Song Cycle and explains a little about the pieces.

This is a studio recording of the Song Cycle.  Gert informed me that there are plans to reissue this album sometime in the summer; this may or may not happen.  I certainly look forward to that, and in the meantime, I trust you will enjoy these amazing recordings.
