Saturday 14: It doesn't take a genius to figure out that nothing has been done for the past two and a half months. The reason is that we have had school, work, and other ways to occupy our time. Also, once we got out of the habit of working on the page, we never found a way to get back into it. The page stood untouched for two and a half months, until one of us stumbled onto our status page. To our amazement, we saw a staggering 6100 in almost 3 months. This was a massive improvement from the old archives, which got 7000 hits in their first year. This got us all hyped up, and we thought since people take the time to visit our page, we might as well have something on here. Right now we are working on an Extended image archive, which will be about 30 MB, as opposed to the old one (not even 5). These pictures will also be better quelity. Also, I will add a credits page as soon as I can, so that everyone involved gets their deserved thanks. -Paul August 1998
Saturday 1: This is the first Tolkien Archives news entry. We will update this whenever something big is added. For the first few weeks, this will be often, since we are just making this new page. So far, I got the guide working. I plan to add the following, in order: Redone Tolkien Biography, Race Histories, and then probably an image archive, with lots more images. Right now im about 65% done the biography, and if all goes well it should be up soon. The race histories we will put up for now are all done, they just need to be slapped onto a page and put up. Keep checking in.. We update often. -Paul Saturday 29: The biography is up, I redid the old one and made it longer. Next, I put up all of the race histories, and made a menu for them. Next, I would like to add a credits page so you can know who is a part of this page, and perhaps the extended image archive. I also added some stuff to the main page, to make it look at least a little better for people coming in. The only pages up right now are the main page, the bio, race history, and news page.
